Endovascular repair of non Aneurysmatic Aortoiliac Arterial Disease.
Angel Menendez
Objective: The objective of this presentation is to compare the endovascular treatment of non aneurysmatic arterial obstrubtive and occlusive disease. We studied the benefits and complication of each modality (open versus endovascular).
Results: We studied our own cases with the complications of open experience versus the endovascular one. The majority of endovascular cases were done under local anesthesia and iv sedation without major complications.
Conclusions: The less invasive modality of endovascular repair has become the standard of care of the majority of lesions in the arterial system specially the aortoiliac system. The design of new devices stents, covered stents, balloons , wires among other interventional devices has improved the outcome of the endovascular procedures.
Keywords: Balloon angioplasty, covered stent grafts, endovascular repair , open repair.
